Here is a landlord that won in the JP Court in fighting the Paupers Appeal and didn’t have to go to BIG SCARY Court downtown. While the tenant (lazy bum, my opinion) sits around getting more free rent. Here is her story in her own words. I have to admit in the beginning I refered her to an attorney, but no more… This is a very good option.
"we won the pauper's appeal!!! He has til the 17th to move out & the constable said if
he doesn't come file & they'll physically remove him.The whole thing took about 2-3 min. The judge asked my tenant how he got to the court house. He described the make & model of the truck. The judge asked him what his income per month was & he told him then told him his bills. Then the judge turned to my husband ( who went in my place) and asked, ” Is this man poor?” My husband said, “No.” Then he denied the pauper’s bond and gave a new writ date of May 17th.
My tenant emailed me late last night & said he would be 100% moved out by or on the 17th and that he would see me in court next week???? What could he possible appeal now? We called the jp court & he still hasn’t posted any money into the court registry!
can you appeal a denied appeal? " My Answer: NO! Thank God! The eviction process works
